Interview with Amedeo D’Andrea
D’ANDREA Lainate Milano Italy

“At EMO MILANO 2021 there will be great enthusiasm”.

Why have you decided to take part in EMO MILANO 2021?

As the most important exhibition for our sector worldwide, EMO is an unmissable, regular fixture for us. Since 1957, the year of our first participation, we have never missed an edition. As we work a lot with foreign companies, EMO is a unique occasion for us, in which we have the opportunity to meet all our international partners in less than a week.
At EMO MILANO 2021, we expect that all the operators of the sector will show great enthusiasm, as they look forward to meeting people in person again, seeing the products first-hand and having a live experience of all innovations of the industry.

What are you experiencing in the current year?

In general, the year 2021 is very lively and dynamic for our market of reference. We perceive an intense business activity and an excellent recovery for Italy. The incentives included in the Transition Plan 4.0 are supporting the demand for many new orders. For this reason, I think that D’Andrea will close the year with a good outcome and, in 2022, will then return to the same record level as in 2018.

What is your outlook on foreign markets?

Asia flies high and, in particular, China is the protagonist of a really amazing performance. This is confirmed by a very strong order increase in the current quarter. A good upswing is highlighted also in Russia and Turkey, whereas the recovery in the countries of the European Union is slower.

What are your customers’ needs at the moment? What trends are affecting your production?

According to a market survey we have recently conducted, we observed that our customers have increasingly customised and specific requirements. Targeted products and tailored solutions to achieve the maximum efficiency, conceived to meet all aspects of work and production management. Moreover, the technological innovation from a 4.0 point of view is an essential element that affects the production of the general product offering of the sector and thus our activity. The required products are more and more digital.

Could you tell us in advance how you will present your company and what products you will exhibit?

Our product display will surely reflect our company identity and new image, which in the last few years we have made more and more innovative and dynamic. During the pandemic, we took advantage of the quietest months to redefine our structure, outlining our strengths more specifically. We will exhibit at the trade show with a renewed stand, a new design compared with the past, in order to mirror our company in the best and most concrete way. Through our exhibit product proposal, we will show all our novelties, in particular regarding the mechatronics field.
