Established in 1986 as a Joint Venture between YBG and Kennametal Inc, USA (named Birla Kennametal Ltd), Birla Precision Technologies (BPT) was renamed in 2007 when YBG acquired the stake of Kennametal. Indian Tool Manufacturers (ITM) – established in 1937 and a division of BPT, ITM is a pioneer in manufacturing HSS Cutting Tools. Its extensive product range of Cutting Tools is manufactured from the finest grades of HSS Steels like M2, M35, M42 and T42. ITM is equipped with two manufacturing units, having ISO 9001:2000 certification
